Booking a wedding with Farm Yard
We are so happy you are here :) Planning your wedding flowers should feel exciting—not confusing or overwhelming. At Farm Yard our goal is to make the floral process clear, collaborative, and stress-free all along the way.
If you’re newly engaged and wondering “How does booking wedding flowers actually work?”—this post is for you.
Step 1: Initial Inquiry
Once you reach out through our website or email, we’ll start by gathering a few key details:
Your wedding date and venue
Estimated guest count
Overall style or vibe (romantic, desert-inspired, modern, wildflower, etc.)
A rough idea of what floral elements you’re looking for (bouquets, ceremony florals, reception pieces)
This helps us confirm availability and get a sense of whether we’re the right fit for your vision. We suggest expecting a $5k minimum spend for “full service” weddings. Full service meaning we are on site delivering, designing, flipping the ceremony space and coming back for cleanup. For budgets below this amount, we offer more of an al a carte option with arrangements that can be picked up at our studio space in Moab or bulk flower buckets for DIY couples.
Step 2: Design Direction & Inspiration
We will follow up with some additional questions for you to answer via email or to schedule a call if you prefer to chat first. You don’t need to have everything figured out—really. Some couples come to us with Pinterest boards and color palettes; others just know they want something that is seasonal and “feels like Moab.” Both are totally fine.
We’ll talk through:
Color preferences
Seasonal flower options
Your venue and how florals can enhance the space
Priorities (where you want to make the biggest impact)
Our designs are always guided by seasonality, sustainability, and what will look best in your specific setting.
Step 3: Custom Proposal
After we get a few more details, we’ll create a custom floral proposal outlining:
Recommended floral pieces
Design approach
Estimated investment
This proposal gives you a clear picture of what your wedding flowers could look like, the flowers we would anticipate using and how everything fits together. We’re happy to make adjustments to align with your priorities or budget.
Step 4: Booking & Retainer
To officially reserve your date, we require:
A signed contract
A non-refundable retainer
Once that’s complete, your wedding date is secured on our calendar, and you can relax knowing your florals are in good hands.
Step 5: Ongoing Planning & Final Details
As your wedding day gets closer, we’ll:
Revisit design details
Confirm final quantities
Coordinate delivery, setup, and timing with your venue or planner
Final details are typically confirmed a month to a few weeks before the wedding, once your plans are locked in. This gives us enough time to source all the best blooms from our farm and other local/regional growers. We know plans change, ideas evolve and we can be flexible as the date approaches.
Step 6: Wedding Day Magic
On your wedding day, we take care of everything—communicating with your planner, designing, delivering, and installing your florals so you can focus on celebrating. From personal flowers to statement installations, every piece is created with care and intention. We stay on site until after your ceremony in order to repurpose any flowers for the reception and freshen up any designs as needed. We will provide floral clean up services as well.
